Beautiful Villa
Blue Tang, St. John villa review
This was our first visit to the Virgin Islands, and the staff made traveling incredibly easy by arranging everything from airport transportation to grocery pre-stocking, as well as help with taxi contacts to and from the beaches. Wini was very accommodating and friendly throughout our stay.
The villa is beautifully decorated, with truly unsurpassed views. The pool is amazing, and the villa itself is very updated and well appointed. We could have easily spent all day there, but the world-class beaches nearby were too tempting to pass up.
There is no need to look anywhere else to stay. I will always check availability here first. For exercise, we enjoyed taking a 25-minute walk to the Westin for taxi service. On the return trip, the open-air taxis would take us to the base of the driveway. There are also taxis available that will take you directly to the front door. The driveway is very steep, we did not see this as a problem at all.
The outdoor shower was also a wonderful experience. Many thanks to the staff and the owner for such a fantastic stay.

Blue Tang, St. John villa review
Blue Tang exceeded our expectations. It was the perfect house for ourselves and our guest. With forewarning about the steep driveway it was no problem at all. The view could NOT have been better and the upper porch was VERY hard to leave !! ( Not to mention the beautiful lower deck around the pool ) Not having any handrail running across the planter in front of you made it feel like you were WIDE OPEN to the big, beautiful bay halfway up the mountain. The sun was never directly coming into our eyes in the morning or the evening, which was perfect! The restaurants that you helped us choose were perfect and Curtis at seashell jeep rental was SO nice! Blue Tang was extremely clean and well equipped in the kitchen area!! If there was one negative I would say that the pool was surprisingly cold; the men could handle it, but we women could not. ???? We took way too many pictures and sent home!! The stone outdoor shower overlooking the bay was a cool addition !! If renters are looking for a party atmosphere this is not the bay or the house but for a peaceful, beautiful, tranquil time this IS the one!! We would choose the same house again !!! This villa was perfect for our needs. It has amazing views, day and night, fully equipped kitchen and grill for dining in, and great spacious bedrooms for 3 couples. The location is very convenient to town and the market.
Where to Stay was a great experience. Having access to a real person for questions and concerns is a superior service. The on island service was a great as well.

We had a fantastic time!
Blue Tang had everything we could ask for. The views were AMAZING! Having the pool was perfect, kitchen fully stocked, and the beds slept great!
Betsy and Sharon were a HUGE help in planning our vacation. We’ve never been to St. John and they helped us with EVERYTHING from transportation, jeep rental, restaurant recommendations, and activities.
We’ll definitely return and use Where to Stay!

Blue Tang exceeded our expectations! The photos are very accurate-the interior is beautiful, kept up very well and each bedroom is lovely! The view is magnificent-I could have sat out on the terrace and looked out onto the harbor all day long!
The pool was beautiful and the grounds were very well kept.
The villa was so well appointed with everything you need for a beach vacation-towels, chairs, bags and coolers-even sunscreen!
We can't wait to come back and stay at Blue Tang!
Working with Betsy and Sharon was amazing! They were so quick to respond and always had great suggestions and information! Even on the night before our trip when I realized I did not have a bit of info, Sharon responded so quickly( and nicely!)
I would rent through WhereToStay for any Caribbean vacation where they have villas!
They were an absolute pleasure to work with-as was our greeter Wini!

Great Villa Choice

Blue Tang was a perfect choice for us. We traveled as a couple but the villa would have been great for two or even three couples. I don't think it is a great choice if you have small childrent, just because it has stairs going to the pool area. The villa and furnishings were very well kept. The greeter was friendly, professional and knowlegeable. The location was excellent. Close enough to town if you want to grab a taxi, but very private also. We would stay here again!
Great service from WhereToStay. We had all of the information we needed to feel confident about our trip.

We could go on and on about this property and home! You may not want to leave the porch overlooking the bay; it takes your breath away! The home has so much charm and character! The bedrooms, baths, kitchen were comfortable and well- stocked. The driveway is steep ( we learned it fast) , but it’s what you have to do for the view! You’ll be in a jeep, so no worries! We loved Blue Tang!
Betsy and Sharon helped me with every need and question; hope to use them again soon!

Was a nice villa! only thing that we did not like was when asked if air conditioned, I was told yes when actually the bedrooms are the only thing that is air conditioned. the kitchen and living room is not but overall a really nice villa with an excellent view!!
Was a good experience all but they got my phone number one digit off and emailed and asked them to change it and they didn’t so when I arrived no one could call me to help

Fabulous Villa! Fantastic Attention to Detail
Blue Tang, St. John villa review
We found the Blue Tang location to be ideal - it is not too far from downtown and not too remote. A few minute drive to the center of town and then onto beaches.
It has wonderful views of the Great Cruz Bay, nice views of the Sunsets in the evenings, Great deck / patio to sit and enjoy the morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evenings.
The villa is comfortable. We are a family of 4. With 2 BRs and 2 BA there is enough space for everyone; the kitchen and dining room / family room are open plan and allow for nice conversation.
The home is well-stocked and cared for.
We absolutely loved working with WhereToStay.com and Betsy and her team. This was our first time renting a villa through them.
Betsy and team are so much more than a place to rent the villa. They truly made our vacation easier - from arranging reliable ground transportation from the airport and then from the ferry to the villa; and getting our groceries stocked to ensuring a smooth check-in. The guidance on questions about the island we asked were spot on.
I would highly encourage that if renting a villa, work with Betsy and her team. They are prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. Would do it all over again!!!!

Breathtaking Views
Blue Tang, St. John villa review
We had an incredible stay at Blue Tang. The villa was just as pictured, but even nicer in person. It was very clean, well stocked, and perfectly located on the island overlooking Cruz Bay. The villa was close to everything, and we enjoyed having a Jeep as a car rental. Shawna was great to work with and answered all my questions promptly. Her suggestions were spot-on for restaurants and things to do. The only issue we had upon arrival was a broken safe in the master bedroom. Maintenance arrived the next day and fixed it. I highly recommend booking with WhereToStay and renting Blue Tang as your villa!

Nice house
Blue Tang, St. John villa review
The house was nice. No air in the kitchen/dining area was not fun. Great view and beautiful pool. House needs updating and the air vents need cleaning. Put some portable fans to help circulate the air. Screens on all of the patio doors would help so all could be opened. Like most homes lots of time spent in kitchen and eating area NEEDS COOL AIR. Not convenient to pull into driveway. Fave room was downstairs bedroom. Nice and cool, loved the shower.
The ladies were super efficient, helpful and easy to get in touch with. VERY NICE.
