The villa was created to allow easy access in and out of doors, with all rooms opening to the outside. When guests aren’t busy taking in the views of the water and lush greenery, they can relax in the hammock or by the pool. Sea Stone is air-conditioned for your comfort, and the kitchen is well-equipped for every kind of meal preparation. Cruz Bay is less than 10 minutes away by car, and there you can enjoy the sights of town, dine out, and do some shopping.

Both tropical and memorable, Sea Stone Villa is designed to be the remedy for city life! Here every room leads to covered porches and expansive Caribbean Sea views. And inside this beautiful 2-bedroom, 2.5-bath island property with swimming pool, all rooms are air-conditioned.
Decorated in hues borrowed from nature, Sea Stone flows seamlessly inside and out. St. John architect Michael Milne conceived of Sea Stone as the perfect opposite to its owners’ Manhattan home. The result is a very special vacation property perfect for one or two couples, and conveniently located in Great Cruz Bay Estates.
At Sea Stone Villa, the walls of local stonework frame Blaurock glass doors and inward-tilting windows which open to take advantage of the trade winds. Just inside the gated main entrance, a sheltered gallery with built-in conversation area for windy days welcomes guests to Sea Stone.
Italian travertine floors, tumbled marble, honed granite countertops, and plantation-grown teak furniture bring the emphasis on nature indoors. An open kitchen bar, as well as inside and outside dining areas offer plenty of eating options.
The kitchen is fully equipped with custom tropical wood cabinetry, dishwasher, gas range, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, and blender. A half-bath and washer-dryer are located off the kitchen.
High exposed-beam ceilings with fans will keep the house cool and open, but air conditioning is also provided throughout the house. Watch television and videos, listen to music, or read from the owners’ library of fiction, natural history, and guidebooks in total comfort.
A five-foot tall sliding window links the kitchen to the built-in Fire Magic barbecue suspended at the cliff’s edge outside.
At Sea Stone, every room has a view, and every room leads outdoors. The terrace and pool at the cliff’s edge are perfect for sunning and horizon-to-forever stargazing (to quote a former guest).
Two identical master bedrooms with covered porches are located at opposite ends of the house for maximum privacy. Both of these spacious suites have king-size beds, built-in desks, and beautiful sea views. Each bedroom has its own bathroom with outside garden shower. There’s gated access to each shower from the outside porch area, for convenience after sunning or swimming.
For a few weeks at the turn of the year, the sun both rises and sets over the water at Sea Stone. At other times, the sweeping views southward from every room will color with sunrise and sunset.
Villa Notes:
Cruz Bay is an 8 - 10 minute drive from the villa. Cruz Bay is the charming/colorful town where the ferry arrives. It has lots of wonderful restaurants, shops, art galleries, dive shops, and more. A short 5-minute drive west of Cruz Bay are the well-established neighborhoods of Great Cruz Bay and Chocolate Hole. The beaches along this stretch of the south shore range from coral to sand. The closest sandy beach is in Great Cruz Bay, home of the Westin Hotel and Resort.

This house has amazing views, layout and offers the best indoor/outdoor living. Only downside is there are only two bedrooms and two beds with really no option to add any further sleeping accommodation.

This was our 4th trip to the island and this was easily our favorite villa. The villa is right on the cliff with a great view or sunrises and sunsets. The villa has everything you need and was great for our 12 night stay. The best part of this villa were the two outdoor showers looking directly out to the ocean. I can’t recommend this villa enough.

The Sea Stone villa was great from start to finish. Easy booking & good communications, everything and anything we needed at the villa. Quiet mornings by the pool or in the hammock watching our iguana friends and evenings watching sailboats drift by as hummingbirds flew through frangipani scented air…it doesn’t get better than this!

A Real Gem!

This is our second year at Sea Stone. Layout is perfect for 2 couples. It’s nicely appointed, and the view is like no other. We’ve been coming to STJ for 15 years now, and I have to say Sea Stone ranks #1 for us so far. We used to stay on Coral, but being close to town and the beaches is so much better. And when you have a property like this to come home to, you’ve hit the jack pot. We cooked in several nights which was easy on that wonderful grill, and like I said, the view! Maria Bluff is breathtaking. You sort of don’t want to leave. haha - I loved Sea Stone.

We had a wonderful visit in St. John at this beautiful little villa, this was our sixth time on the island and this villa was the best one we have stayed at. The pictures on the Internet do not do this Villa justice, I almost did not book this villa, but boy when I seen it I was glad I did. We had a fabulous time and the pool is so refreshing but the view oh my gosh is amazing we actually seen sea turtles swimming down below! Also the gift basket with goodies and drinks was a hit we had such a long travel day and that hit the spot - the water and the juice and the goodies. I give this Villa five stars plus!

15 years to date vacationing on STJ. All around, best villa ever! Sea Stone was clean, comfortable, well appointed, views that take take your breath away, quiet and close to town which is important to us. We will definitely be back. I would have liked to get wi-fi in the detached master suite, but it’s by no means a deal breaker, especially when everything else is A+++. Thanks Sea Stone for another memorable year on the island.
5 Stars to Where To Stay & Shawna, too. Friendly and responsive which is so important b/c these villas “fly off the shelf”. Shawna was able to help us get the week we needed and secure the contract in a couple days. Thanks, Shawna & team!

Loved Sea Stone!
Sea Stone Villa, St. John villa review
We loved Sea Stone Villa! It is clear that the owners have carefully thought through every detail for comfort and beauty both inside and out.
We have two ideas for consideration. The first is that when we arrived, the fragrance that we believe was part of the cleaning products was so overpowering that it stung our eyes, noses, and throats and disrupted our first night’s sleep. We tried airing out the house by opening the side of the house that had screens, but with no cross breeze, that didn’t help. We thought maybe there was a fragrance “plug-in” somewhere that kept emitting the fragrance, but couldn’t find one. The intensity did finally dissipate after about 36 hours. Maybe advise the cleaning staff?
Second, the air conditioning unit in the bedroom was loud and sometimes woke us up when it cycled on and off.
Finally, all of the snorkeling gear leaked water and was not usable. We rented better gear after our first day of snorkeling.
Neither of these issues would keep us from coming back! We loved all of the indoor and outdoor spaces! We can’t wait to stay there again someday.

Sea Stone Villa hit the nail on the head. This well-appointed villa has private, comfortable master suites and beautiful grounds. We loved the outdoor showers and large baths. The pool is amazing with sweeping vistas of the beautiful blue water. Hearing the waves crash below is the icing on the cake while relaxing with morning coffee or after a day of hiking and visiting beautiful beaches. We have been visiting this little island since ‘97, and have to chock this villa up as the best one yet. We will be back!

We spent two weeks here in April 2012 to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Everything was great at Sea Stone.
We had a minor problem with the water tank, and the management group handled the issue quickly. The rooms, pool, the view - it was the total package.
We’ve stayed at other villas on St. John, and this was our favorite. It’s close to Cruz Bay, but not too close. It has a lot of privacy and quiet. We loved the outdoor shower, too!

Architecturally, it is beautiful. The small details of the layout of this home are a really quite impressive.
I enjoyed hearing the surf on the rocks below while watching stars at night. You won’t go wrong picking this one.

We have rented this villa many times now, and have not been disappointed. We rent it for the location, being so close to town, and the fact that it’s right over the water. It has all the amenities you could want for your vacation. Having it cleaned half way through is a nice plus!

The Villa is beautiful and very comfortable. Ocean views were amazing! We loved the location - it was private, but close enough to town for evening dinners and shopping. There is construction at Villa next door. It didn’t bother us since we were out exploring island all day, but they started before 7am every week day.
When we arrived, there were fresh flowers from the garden in a vase, along with snacks, which was very thoughtful.
Shawna was awesome to work with. Very attentive and quick to answer questions.

Sea Stone’s owner and new management do an excellent job on villa upkeep and service. The only problem is that cellular service only exists in the parking area, due to the villa’s location. Management says the problem is unsolvable.
Shawna has her act together and has good connections on-island.
