A unique and matchless Caribbean villa experience for families and friends
A La Mer Villa is aptly named, as the property perches on over an acre of Great Cruz Bay’s waterfront. An electronic gate opens to landscaped tropical flowers and palm trees, and A La Mer rests at the end of the winding driveway.
An aquamarine pool bordered by a strip of sugar white sand sits center stage at A La Mer Villa. The pool enjoys a swim-up bar with underwater bar stools, and a powder room sits nearby. A poolside stone gazebo shades the sunken living area and a wet bar outfitted with an icemaker, mini fridge and dishwasher. The villa’s spacious veranda wraps around the inland side of the pool, and is furnished with al fresco dining and cushioned seating. The al fresco living area offers a flatscreen TV, a kitchenette, and ceiling fans. To the side of the house, a hammock hangs between two palm trees next to a barbecue grill and ping pong table. Loungers and palm trees perch around the sundeck and beach. Guests can cook s’mores or enjoy stargazing around the fire pit.
The expansive, fully air-conditioned, two-story villa features seven bedrooms and a beautifully-designed Great Room with high, arched windows and artistic stonework. Glass French doors wrap around the living and dining room, and white slipcovered sofas and rattan armchairs gather around the flatscreen TV. The mahogany dining table seats 14 in an alcove flanked by a model yacht. The large, gourmet kitchen lies on the other side of the tiled foyer. The kitchen is outfitted with a Viking range, a large center island with bar top seating, expansive countertops, and a convenient pass-through window to the poolside dining area. The kitchen also offers a wet bar with a mini fridge, an ice machine, and a powder room facing a walled garden. The family room is just beyond the kitchen, and offers more space to lounge, watch movies on the flatscreen, and play cards or board games. Screened French doors open to the front of the house and a bubbling fountain.
A hallway leads past the laundry room to two of A La Mer’s king suites, both of which offer air-conditioning, ensuite bathrooms, and screened French doors opening to small covered patios. Twin mahogany staircases ascend from either side of the family room to the upper floor, where each suite overlooks the pool and Great Cruz Bay. There are four suites upstairs, including the master, and each enjoys a four-poster king bed, central air-conditioning, a large ensuite bathroom, and a private balcony. A La Mer’s master suite also offers a roofed patio with seating and a sumptuous master bath with a double vanity, a separate WC with a bidet, and a semi-alfresco double shower. Two of the upper level suites have a connecting door between them, which is perfect for families or teenagers. At the top of one staircase, there is an office alcove with a desk, a printer, and a twin trundle bed.
A La Mer’s location on Great Cruz Bay provides the perfect amount of tranquility and convenience. Experienced divers will love snorkeling nearby, and the Westin Resort’s lovely white sand beach is a 10-minute walk down the bay. Cruz Bay’s restaurants, activities, and shops are also a short drive away.
The property manager lives on-site in a separate guest house, your privacy is assured.
