The view of Cruz Bay and St Thomas are wonderful - best view of anywhere we have stayed on St. John. We enjoyed mornings on the large deck watching the ferries begin their long day and the Island waking up. Depending on the weather and clouds, the sunsets are most often spectacular. The villa is laid out very well. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious with ample storage room. The kitchen and main room are very nicely done and have everything to make the stay special. We especially liked that not only are the bedrooms air conditioned, but the main room is as well, making it comfortable after returning from a long day on the beaches. The landscaping around the villa is beautiful and we enjoyed spotting the many iguanas hanging out in the nearby trees. Getting to and from the villa is a little tricky, but you easily get used it. We will definitely consider Exotic View Villa for our next adventure to St. John.

Exotic View Villa - Return for Summer

This is the 2nd time we’ve stayed at Exotic View Villa and we enjoyed it just as much as last year. We’ve been coming to St. John for years, so the drive & driveway is as expected and very easy to get used to. The location and set-up of Exotic View is awesome. It’s maybe 5 minutes to Cruz Bay, 10 minutes to The Windmill for sunsets & drinks, 15 minutes to the North Shore beaches, and 25 minutes to Coral Bay. It’s perfect for two couples as the bedrooms & bathrooms as almost identical. The AC is great, patio is awesome, pool is refreshing, and the views are just unreal. Working w/ Shawna & team at WTS is always fantastic. We are, yet again, already planning on when we can go back. ??????

Wonderful Villa But Some Noise Concerns

Exotic View Villa, St. John villa review

Exotic View is an outstanding villa! It is situated “up” from the water with glorious views SW across to St. Thomas. Sunsets were a sight every day!

The villa itself is very well designed with two quite similar ensuite bedrooms with a central living/dining/kitchen area plus a powder room. The balcony is massive and we spent hours there everyday enjoying the sights and (usually) the sounds of this part of St. John.

The pool is located down a level and next to what is being developed as a 3rd bedroom. The pool is a great size for dipping and floating. The pool itself is extra private which we took full advantage of.

The villa was very well appointed with the kitchen exceeding all expectations regarding utensils, pans, and dishwater. Truly - our house should be so well set-up!

The general villa location was good with quick access to multiple grocery stores. The drive “to town” was no more than 5-8 minutes though parking was always a hassle. The distance to the main beaches varied from 15-25 minutes. Again - parking was always a problem.

Now the one issue: noise. If you are imagining the sounds of waves crashing on the beach and wind whistling through the palm trees…well, no. You hear none of that but do hear: (1) Cars with blaring radios driving on the main road. (2) Cars with no mufflers and motorcycles blaring along. (3) Nightly loud music from a local club/bar located on the main road. (4) If there is any house construction in the general area - hammering, circular saws, workers yelling back and forth…you hear all that. (5) We even had three nights where the house two over from us was rented by a group of young men who whopped it up and partied into the night, loudly.

So that’s the rub. We loved everything about Exotic View - and I really mean “loved” - but many times our quiet enjoyment was upset by the noise around us. I would rate Exotic View as “5 stars” but the noise incursions need to be considered.

Shawna and the team at WhereToStay were terrific. Everything was exactly as presented and they were responsive to our every request.

The massive basket of crackers, snacks, crunchy stuff and such was VERY much appreciated an mostly consumed by the time we left. We also found sunscreen, coffee, coffee filters, sweeteners, and other basic condiments there for our use. That is not always the case in rental units and we appreciated what we found. We used the grill many times and it worked fine. Thanks.

Another Great Week on St. John at Exotic View Villa!

My wife and I just returned from a week on St. John staying at Exotic View. The Villa is one of the best we have rented over the past 15 years. It is very spacious and functional with fantastic views of St. Thomas and unbelievalbe sunsets every night. Provided in the villa were any number of extra items to make the stay more enjoyable like beach bags, beach chairs, shopping bags, bluetooth speakers and more. The kitchen had every utensil and appliance that we needed. The villa has plenty of bath towels and beach towels for the pool or beach. There is ample seating at the dining table, in the living room and on the balcony. The pool area is very spacious and the pool itself was larger than we expected. The only concerns we had with the villa is that is it located very near several other homes so there is the normal “neighborhood” noise (landscaping, minor construction, traffic, kids playing, etc.) and the privacy of the pool was not as expected due to some recent renovations that had removed much of the vegetation that had previously created privacy for the pool area. We had a couple minor issues that were immediately handled by representative of the management company who were also very good in communicating and following up. We would highly recommend Exotic View to anyone thinking about a stay on St. John.

Shawna we great to work with and helped make the rental process very enjoyable. She gave us great advice on the options available at the time of booking. She was proactive in keeping us informed before and during our stay. We look forward to working with her again to assist with future trips.

Paradise!

Exotic View Villa, St. John villa review

This was our third time staying at exotic view, this time was a 2 week stay, we love the villa, the view, the pool and convenience to Cruz bay and the markets. The villa now has A/C throughout the house which is a bug bonus, and they’re adding a third bedroom. You can’t beat the location, the villa itself is well maintained, clean and has everything you need.

I can’t say enough about Shawna and how easy she makes the process of securing the villa, the payments, navigating the always changing covid policies and just making sure we have all the info we could possibly need before heading to St. John. We’ve been booking through her for the last 7 years, she is the reason we continue to choose to go through “Where to stay”

Perfection

Exotic View Villa, St. John villa review

This was our 2nd time staying at Exotic View Villa. We loved every minute of it, and will definitely stay there again. It has everything we needed and more: a view, a pool, and a spacious balcony. The staff accommodated our requests (in both stays) to have the grill on the balcony so we could cook dinner together out there. We can’t wait to come back!

Shawna has handled our stay for the last 2 years, and she made sure we had all the info we needed. She gave us all the info for trip insurance, rental vehicles, and island amenities. Give her a raise!

Stunning Villa

Exotic View Villa, St. John villa review

We stayed at Exotic View Villa for 10 days and were amazed by the property! Everything was beautiful, clean, well organized, and the house was stocked with all the necessities. The kitchen was perfect for someone who loves to cook and had everything we could possibly need. The grill was immaculate. The bedrooms where spacious and the dressers were perfectly sized to tuck everything away. The view was breathtaking and the wildlife around the villa was fabulous; hummingbirds would swoop by your head while you were in the pool and large iguanas sunbathed in the palms right in front of us. The villa had a great supply of beach snorkel gear, toys, chairs, etc. The super steep driveway took some getting used to, we recommend backing in, but is not a major issue. The house has two parking spaces at the top of the drive, but I have a knee injury so trying to get down on foot was hard. The house’s location was perfect, but there was construction on every side so it was pretty loud in the mornings. This isn’t our first time returning since Irma, so we knew what we were in for, but we didn’t expect to be completely surrounded and many days our driveway was blocked with construction vehicles. Our only complaints which could be easily rectified… more towels, new mattress pads, different pillows, and more pool cleaning. Overall, the house was lovely and we hope to return!

Shawna was FABULOUS! She responded to all our questions quickly and was excellent to work with. We hope to reserve our next vacation with Shawna again.

Exceptional Villa

The villa was perfect for our needs and, as advertised, the view is outstanding. It was very comfortable and had everything that we needed for a day at the beach. We experienced a power outage and when the power came back on, the water pump did not work. We called the island representative for WhereToStay and Alfredo arrived very shortly to fix the problem. The house was perfect, and the level of service from Shawna and others at WhereToStay was top-notch. We would highly recommend them and Exotic View Villa.

Exotic View Villa, St. John villa review

The villa was amazing! It’s very close to the town of Cruz Bay, less than a 5 minute drive. The villa itself is exceptional, with awesome views and two huge air-conditioned bedrooms. Each suite has its own bathroom with a double sink vanity and walk-in tile shower. The kitchen is modern and big, and the back balcony is a great place to soak in the view, grill and eat. The pool on the lower deck was clean and deeper than most villas’ splash pools. The deep end is 6 feet deep. We will definitely be booking this villa on our next St. John trip.

Shawna was extremely helpful. Anytime I called she had the answers I needed and made booking a breeze. She helped me with the trip insurance as well when I had trouble securing that.

Exotic View Villa has great views of St Thomas, the sunsets, and Cruz Bay. This villa is top-notch, clean, and cared for. This is our 6th visit to St John, and this villa was by far the nicest we’ve been to. It was clean, pristine, and everything was in order. The villa management team was always available, quick to answer questions, and eager to respond to any needs. Sherrolynn, Alfredo, and Maria were awesome! We called to have the gas container changed on the grill and Alfredo was there in 10 minutes! We would return again and had a peaceful, relaxing vacation while staying here.

The furnishings were excellent, with a comfortable king bed and everything needed for closets/dressers/etc. It had a top of the line kitchen that was beautiful and equipped with anything we needed for cooking, drinks, and space.

Working with Shawna was a pleasure, and she was always willing to answer any questions to make sure we were comfortable with our trip plans. She stayed in contact before, during, and after our trip to make sure we were happy and that all questions answered. I appreciated Shawna’s knowledge of St John, and she knew exactly what we were looking for to match us with the right villa.

Beautiful garden villa with an amazing view of Cruz Bay in St. John.

Exotic View Villa was absolutely everything we wanted for our stay on St. John to celebrate our anniversary. From the beautiful garden courtyard to the breathtaking view of the bay from the pool, every part was beautiful and cozy. Everything was modern and well thought-out. We loved the patio in the back and enjoyed breakfast and several romantic dinners while watching the sunset with villa provisioning by Sam and Jacks. It was a perfect way to end our days. Every window offered a beautiful view of either the front garden or the bay and ocean. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need and plenty of room. I recommend villa provisioning for mornings out on the patio. The pool also had a wonderful view and was a great place to watch the sunset. We enjoyed the provided beach chairs and cooler for our trips to the beach. There is plenty of room for two couples traveling or for a couple looking for a romantic getaway. This was our first time to stay in a villa and not an all-inclusive resort. I think we will always do a villa now. Having the privacy and room was perfect. We were only a short drive away from restaurants, groceries, and the North End beaches. It was very quiet, peaceful, and offered privacy. Exotic View Villa offered the perfect accommodations for a much needed romantic trip.

We booked with Shawna a year before our trip after doing extensive research. Shawna was very helpful with finding a villa that matched our interests and what we were looking for. Even after Hurricane Irma and Maria, Shawna was very helpful and answered every question I had during an uncertain time. I loved how she was always quick to respond to my questions and very thorough. She provided many helpful tips and suggestions, and handled booking our transfers and car rental concerns. During our travel day, we experienced long delays and she was quick to respond to my emails. She also kept the car rental and our villa greeter updated on our flight situation. It gave me such peace to know she was looking out for us and our travel situation. I will definitely book with WhereToStay again. Everything was top-notch and we had an amazing anniversary trip on St. John.

Loved Every Minute!

Exotic View Villa, St. John villa review

This villa had it all - modern kitchen, renovated bathroom, and air conditioned bedrooms… but the BEST was the view of the water and St. Thomas from the deck and pool. So relaxing during the day, lit up and sparkling at night. Exactly the romantic getaway we were looking for.

Working with WhereToStay was easy and seamless. Shawna found a great rental, and provided excellent recommendations for restaurants and other amenities. I would have liked to know in advance that stocking the villa needed a 72-hour order. But we pre-ordered groceries anyway and they were waiting at the market when we arrived.

Amazing views and house

Exotic View Villa, St. John villa review

We had a great week! Our greeter was wonderful and accommodating when our flight was delayed. The villa was as beautiful as the pictures! Views were amazing! We loved spending mornings on the patio and the pool was perfect. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. While the island breezes were great, I would recommend adding air conditioning to the main living area. The bedrooms had air conditioning and were very roomy and comfortable. If we go back to St John again we will definitely rent Exotic Villa again. Highly recommend!!

Sharon was very responsive and helpful from the beginning of the process until we left for vacation. She took time to answer my questions whenever I called and made planning the trip very turnkey. The taxi service she set us up with, Wheatley Taxi on St Thomas was wonderful. Would definitely recommend to others. Drivers were very nice, helpful and knowledgeable on the islands.

A week in St. John!

Exotic View Villa, St. John villa review

We really enjoyed our week stay at Exotic View Villa. The villa is very spacious and gave each couple a lot of room and privacy. It was wonderful to wake up and have breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sea… the view was amazing! We loved watching the boats sailing by and going back and forth from St. Thomas. We also enjoyed watching the sunset from the same spot… truly beautiful and relaxing! The late afternoons the living area and terrace were very very hot as the sun beat in - but that’s the price of a beautiful sunset. The house was very well equipped with everything we needed (kitchen/cookware, beach chairs, coolers, beach bags, towels, washer/dryer, etc.) The bedroom linens, and living area furnishings could use an update. The only downside to the villa is the parking… the driveway is very very steep and extremely difficult to maneuver. And the steep location made walking anywhere (including just around the area) undesirable. But… the views from the house made up for all that… once you were parked and inside, you just relaxed and enjoyed the amazing views.

Betsy was great! Very attentive, quickly replying and on top of everything.

Very nice villa

Exotic View Villa, St. John villa review

Exotic View has wonderful proximity to Cruz Bay, and is a lovely home. It offers great privacy for two couples. The restroom and mini fridge by the pool could be improved so there was less need to go up and down the stairs, and the driveway access is extremely rough. Other than that, it’s a wonderful home.

Shawna was great and very helpful. Her written instructions were detailed and well-done.
