Beautiful spacious villa

Deja View, St. John villa review

We were a group of 17 and found the villa to be plenty big enough for all of us both inside and out. The views were spectacular and we really made good use of the pool and outdoor kitchen. Some of the appliances could be updated- the refrigerator was never cold enough and one of the stove burners did not work. Overall we had a great experience!

Betsy was always available via phone and got back to us right away. She made our trip planning quite easy and stress-free.

Amazing House But No Generator

This is a great place to rent for a week. Everything you’d want in a house, great rooms, great pool well stocked, an outdoor bar, amazing views. The photos don’t do it justice.
But, and a bug but. this 6500 square foot house doesn’t come with a GENERATOR and that is a big deal on an island like St. John wher power outages are frequent.
No power! No power means no AC, No water (because it is stored in 2 5 thousand gallon tanks that require Power to pump it to the house). No router, no internet and poor cell quality.
And if you drive down the on the hassles it can cause or did for us on our wedding week. No generator means no power, means….
No showers
No flushing the toiles
Can’t reach help to re-prime the water pump after it goes offline
No charging your cell phone, unless you use your car like I did.
Spoiled food in the frig and so much more.
No TV (didn’t care)
No Ice
No AC in the bedrooms
Warm beer
No washing clothes

Again, the management company Betsy and team were great, although I do wish they warned us before about the many power outages and the lack of a generator. but the house is perfect except for that little nugget.

I learned one lesson. Never rent a house without a generator.

The owners have to step up and spend the 8 to 10K and in the interim buy a dozen lanterns and not just 4 little flashlights.

Deja View, St. John villa review

We celebrated the graduation of three high schoolers. This was our family celebration before the 3 cousins headed off to college. Our group was a total of 10, ages 18 to 80. Deja View could not have been a better fit for us, not to mention the spectacular views and all the amenities. We spent much more time at Deja View than we planned and we have no regrets. Our planning took us through every villa on the island but Deja View offered everything we could want. We have five cousins in our group who absolutely loved the bunk room or as they called it, “The Bunker”. There was no other villa that offered such sleeping arrangements and it made such a huge impact on the fun the girls had in their own space.
Upon arrival to Deja View, a feeling of complete relaxation came over us all. The amazing views, large pool, covered verandas and the hot tub overseeing the island out to St Thomas. For the girls grandmother, she was able to stay on one floor without having to go up and down more than three steps. There was also plenty of covered spaces to sit for anyone wanting to relax by the pool but stay out of the sun for a little while.
We did not have a single issue at the villa during our stay. We met the staff and knew who to call if any issues should arise. The details of the villa were truly outstanding. The rooms were clean, cool and comfortable. The outside kitchen was amazing and the ice maker was legendary. This is by far our favorite family vacation ever!

Shawna was AMAZING!!!! I would send emails with all sorts of questions and asking for recommendations and she answered promptly and with great information. Whether it was restaurant suggestions or travel information, she was always available with the answers. When our trip was approaching, Shawna would send an email reminding us of next steps, Whether it was when to get travel insurance, book the ferry, she arranged the taxi from and to the airport. Even our car rental company was recommended by Shawna. And everything worked out perfectly. I will book more trips through Shawna and WheretoStay.com because of the professional service provided. I also believe the website is the best of all options available.

Loved Dejaview!

Deja View, St. John villa review

We stayed at Dejaview with 3 other families and was plenty of room for everyone. The views from the pool deck and outdoor living areas were beautiful, even among the rain we had during our stay. While the kitchen/family room areas were not air conditioned, we could open the sliders that had screens to let the fresh air in. But who wants to spend their time indoors with all of the outdoor living areas available? We also loved the outdoor kitchen and bar area. Great vacation house! Defintely need a 4WD to get there though.

Working with Shawna and Wheretostay.com was seamless. Even working through rebooking after the Pandemic cancellations. So glad we were finally able to get the St. John!

View Can’t Be Beat

Gorgeous home and great for large groups. Plenty of space and lots of areas to get away for a quiet moment to yourself. BEWARE Owners are NOT flexible with changes……even during pandemic, which was disappointing, but management company was great to work with. Great breezes can be enjoyed and property well taken care of. Just wish they had a generator. Lost power twice, once for 15 hours and when we arrived for 6 hours (had to find only restaurant in town that was open). Also, no a/c in main living and kitchen but we had cool enough weather. Summer months could be a bit of a struggle. Aside from those negatives, this is a very beautiful property and we would return.
