Our group of 8 had an amazing trip to Lantano Villa. From the initial contact with Betsy, the follow through provided by Betsy, Sharon, Nydia, and Tom (Maintenance). The Villa was in a beautiful location, very spacious with 5 Bd/5.5 Baths, pool & hot tub with incredible views overlooking Peter Bay. The kitchen had everything you would need.
Betsy was very responsive, kind, and informative. Easy to work with. The website with recommendations is worth taking a look at. Loved that you could look at the recommendations with a map and distance to each place from the Villa.

Spectacular Vacation
Lantano Villa, St. John villa review
My family and I just spent a full week at Villa lantano on St John, and what a week it was. The layout of the home and the amenities provided were just what the family needed to enjoy both the comforts of home while being on vacation!
Being able to cook and enjoy breakfast together is important to our family, and night swimming in the pool was spectacular under the stars. Our group of nine enjoyed their own little space when they needed quiet time.
I highly recommend Villa Lantano for anyone looking for a comfortable getaway on the island of St. John for your family!

Fabulous rental
Lantano Villa, St. John villa review
Beyond our expectations. We had a fabulous vacation celebrating a milestone birthday and a high school graduation. The villa was exceptionally stocked from the kitchen to the number of pool towels. Our master AC unit wasn’t producing enough air. All it took was a phone call and within an hour it was repaired. It is located perfectly between 3 beautiful beaches and easy access to multiple hiking trails. The view is phenomenal. I would highly recommend this villa for large families.
We planned our trip well in advance and Shawna and her team were excellent communicators. Such an easy process to book.

Lantano Villa exceeded our highest expectations. We have stayed at other villas and the quick and easy access to beaches and town can’t be beat! We were pleasantly surprised that the “dipping pool” was actually a hot tub and the outdoor entertaining area was absolutely incredible. The 180 degree views from the outdoor area were breathtaking. We would definitely stay at the Villa again!

We have stayed at 5 different villas and this was the best in many ways. The villa and location speak for themselves as one can see from the online information. The layout is great for groups to hang but also provides space for privacy. The staff at WhereToStay was outstanding. Upon arrival one bedroom AC was not functioning but they were already aware and it was repaired within a few hours. We had another island crisis (broken blender) but a replacement was delivered the same day it was reported.
Working with WhereToStay was terrific - stayed in communication leading up to the trip and very well coordinated. Betsy answered most of our questions in advance which made the pre-planning easy. As noted above, the onsite contacts were extremely responsive.

The view is great. The outdoor layout was perfect for group socializing. The house is in a perfect location for beaches and restaurants.

Villa Lantano was great for our combination of a couple of families and one of the few that’s truly kid friendly.
Shawna was fantastic throughout the process. We had the unfortunate scenario of the original home we rented changing ownership a few months before we were scheduled to come to St. John. Shawna quickly found us a couple of alternatives and feel like Villa Lantano was an even better fit for the group.

Thank you for an amazing week in this 5-star villa. Where to Stay was spot on with everything. Had one backed up toilet and they fixed same day while we were out boating. Shawna and crew are so responsive and great to work with. Highly recommend this villa and “Where To Stay!”

Amazing views and accommodations

We could not have been any happier with our choice to stay in Peter’s Bay. This is the first house in Upper Peter’s Bay but you have access to the beach. It was a bit of a hilly walk if you wanted to get to the beach so we would recommend driving. There is a small place to park three cars and the walk to the beach is a little rocky. However, Cinnamon bay and Maho Bay are so close. This house has two master bedrooms in the main house and a pool house with another king bed and an upstairs bedroom. I would recommend this house if your children can be in a separate house then you. This house had all the amenities. The pool was beautiful. We spent so much time just staring at the view. We loved the telescope too! We had two private chefs come in and they had no complaints about the kitchen amenities. WhereToStay was prompt and helpful with any small problems that came up. Very attentive! Rent your car in St. Thomas and take the car ferry over. It will save you a lot of grief!

I wish I could give 10 stars. The views from Villa Lantano are breathtakingly beautiful. We loved sitting by the pool and having unobstructed ocean views. We were only minutes from all of the most popular beaches on St. John. The Villa is incredibly well appointed with everything you could possibly need. My family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teens) had more space than we needed. We easily could have accommodated another family. We I’ll definitely be renting Villa Lantano again. It was perfect.
The staff and the people at WhereToStay.com made our visit wonderful, relaxing, and seamless. They even put us in contact with locals to make sure our refrigerator was stocked on arrival, that we had a rental car, and access to the best cab driver, restaurants, and private boat charter. I have never had a company be so attentive to our every need. Shawna was a superstar! My family and I have agreed that we will be checking with Shawna and WhereToStay.com before trying any of the short term vacation rental sites ever again.

Lantano exceeded (very high) expectations on every level! The pix do not the villa justice: it is far more beautiful, roomier, and secluded. The view is to die for! The ac units work well and the beds are comfy.
Easy, quick drive to town, and Trunk Bay within 5 minutes drive.
…it’s expensive …and worth every penny!
Betsy at Wheretostay.com was so easy to work with and kept us well-prepared and informed!

Exceeded All Hopes and Expectations

My wife and I were 1 of 3 couples who were fortunate enough to stay at Lantano Villa. In a word…Spectacular!
“Villa” is a very humble word for this exquisite property in the gated community of Peter Bay. Lantano is perched hillside offering views that seem almost too good to be true. The only downside to watching the spectacular sunset from the pool deck is realizing that another day of vacation has passed. Peter Bay is a fantastic location on St. John, and some of the world’s best unspoiled beaches are just minutes from Lantano Villa. We also made the short drive to Cruz Bay (and used taxis) on several occasions to enjoy fantastic restaurants, shops, etc.
I have only 3 recommendations:
1) Book through WhereToStay.com…Shawna is fantastic and responds to requests very promptly.
2) Rent a car well before your trip. Demand is high right now.
3) Thank yourself for choosing Lantano Villa…I cannot imagine a more perfect property.

The pictures don’t even do this place justice. It’s absolutely incredible! We loved it and have already recommended it to three other people. Definitely worth the money!
Andrew and team make everything so easy. They took care of everything they could and gave me great instructions for the few things that I needed to arrange. I would’ve been lost without their help.

Peter Bay Disappointment
Lantano Villa, St. John villa review
We have always wanted to stay in the prestigious Peter Bay Area and choose Villa Lantano based upon five bedrooms for adults and overall price for the week. This Villa boasts beautiful views as pictured, very nicely appointed rooms and furniture and wonderful proximity to the North Shore beaches which was so nice.
The reason for our disappointment was the overall upkeep of this property, lack of amenities you would expect in Villas of this price point and location. The Master Suite AC never got cool after two visits from the AC repair person and had similar issue with upstairs Bedroom AC too that was finally resolved. This bedroom also lacks privacy as there are no doors to this bedroom and only curtains making it uncomfortable and definitely not private. The Main pool and hot tub were not prepared for our visit and after two different calls for pool maintenance, they never got warm for our weekly rental. Other maintenance issues included main kitchen faucet that was so loose you could practically pull it through the counter, ice maker that did not work, outside deck lights with multiple bulbs that were burnt out, and one set of keys for five bedrooms and only one safe in the Master Suite. While the pool deck views were incredible, there are NO outdoor speakers or indoor speakers in this house at all. Overall, we enjoyed our St. John vacation but it was not because of this Villa and to us, frequent Villa renters, this was the first time we chose wrong.
