We stayed at Vista Caribe villa for 9 nights in June and this property met and surpassed our expectations for a fantastic vacation home. The craftsmanship of the home and it’s floorplan were excellent. All rooms, except for the outside “mother-in-law” suite, are all under one roof. The views are tremendous, especially from the master suite on the top floor. The beds are very comfortable the air conditioners work great. This is our fourth villa we have rented in St. Thomas/St John and the only one we would like to return to for a future vacation. It’s a kid-friendly layout and our 7 year old daughter loved the pool as did my wife and I. Location is excellent in the Virgin Grande Estates and all appliances work properly and are in good shape. Even a Weber grill. We had other family members staying at a different location and they came up to visit a couple of times and I think they were a bit jealous as to our accommodations. Very highly recommend this villa if you are wanting a centrally located, elegant vacation home. Also, Betsy with WheretoStay is excellent also. She’s very responsive I enjoy working with her.
Great. Second time I have worked with Betsy and where to stay and I’ve recommended other friends to her. We’re looking to vacation maybe in St Lucia next year and would like to work with her if your site has villas there also.

The pictures online do not begin to do this place justice. The property is stunning! The landscaping is so lush and full of vibrant colors and various textures. The pool is incredible, as it is surrounded by the tropical landscape making it very private.
There are beautiful views from every room. If you’re torn between properties, here are some things to consider:
1. This property has 3 bedrooms in the main house and one additional bedroom in a separate living space. All rooms have their own bathrooms
2. The Virgin Grand Estates neighborhood is fantastic. It’s safe. It’s gorgeous. There are deer to see :)
3. The AC works incredibly well
4. There are two washing machines and two dryers
5. Two of the beds are comfortable. The other two are “ok..”. The main bedroom on top floor had a decent bed and the 2nd floor bed is also good.
6. The entire property is private.
7. There are roosters and hens all over the island, so we expected them by the villa. Didn’t bother us. We actually liked it because it got us up earlier and we were able to enjoy longer days on vacation, including trips to Gibney Beach. Highly recommend this beach!
8. Night views of st thomas are gorgeous, as are the sunsets.
9. The outdoor dining has stunning views!
10. Proximity to all of the island is optimal.

Beautiful. The Villa was absolutely awesome. The only thing was the internet was out for a few days, but you have to expect that sort of thing in the islands. Other than that our vacation experience was fantastic.
Shawna was great to work with. Our greeter, Abby, stayed in contact with us from the airport to the ferry dock to St John car rental where she met us.

Great Villa

From beginning to end we loved everything about this villa. This is our fourth stay at Vista Caribe and the owners have done a fantastic job maintaining the villa inside and out over the years. Our first visit was in 2005 and you would not think the villa has aged since then. The staff at WheretoStay were informative and efficient. The villa greeter was very professional and knowledgeable.

Vista Caribe Villa, St. John villa review
If I could give this villa a mid-star rating, I think 4.5 would be just right. It is a pretty villa - nice and comfortable would be a good description. There were a few minor items that could be addressed, but nothing that detracted strongly from our stay. We enjoyed the lush landscape and fantastic sunsets on the back porch each night! The house was well stocked with beach towels, two sets of washer/dryers (used daily to refresh the towels), beach chairs, and a nice supply of condiments/spices/spirits. The beds and linens were nice and comfortable.
Great! Shawna was very responsive, answered questions, set up taxi transfers, and just made everything clear and easy. I would definitely recommend working with her and would use her services again in the future. Thank you!

This has been the 4th trip to Vista Caribe Villa. A little slice of heaven on earth.
Place is always kept immaculate and it’s where we find our happy place. Even during a pandemic the house and Island never disappoints. I am sure we will be booking again!
Shawna makes planning a trip like talking to an old friend! Give her dates and step back!!!

This was our 3rd time staying at Vista Caribe, and I can say it won’t be the last. First class all the way! It’s also close to everything, yet you feel as if you’re all alone.
Shawna makes booking a vacation easy. We have used Where to Stay and Shawna numerous times and we’re never disappointed.

This was our 2nd stay at Caribe Villa and our 8th year on St John. All I can say is if this villa goes for sale, we’d be interested! Only thing I’d like to have added is outdoor showers with easy access. Everything here is always top notch and in perfect condition! I’d have to rate it higher than 5 stars!
Shawna has always been great to work with, I think I tried someone else once and won’t try that again! Highly recommend her!

Also had a few snacks and drinks left by the concierge which was very nice. Only negative was that the top king bedroom had a terrible shower head that barely worked. There was a nice outdoor shower by the pool so we would shower there instead. All other bathrooms had decent showers not sure why the room with the best view and would be considered the primary suite didn’t have a nice shower head. Easy fix for the company.
Would definitely recommend WhereToStay. It was very easy to book and everyone was very helpful.
WhereToStay.com was great to work with. Betsy sort of ghosted me but Sharon was quick to respond. Maybe Betsy only does the initial booking??? I have already recommended the company for Island vacations!
