Caribbean vacations offer much more than you might imagine, especially if you have never heard about the wonderful accommodation options. One is the beautiful Hummingbird Villa of St. Lucia. This villa offers more than you might even think possible in a house, with views of Rodney Bay and the Caribbean Sea, and a comfortable yet elegant interior which will allow you to relax and refresh yourself, while being pampered in the best style. The open floor plan offers more in sitting and dining than most other houses do. There is a housekeeper and a gardener who care for the property.
Hummingbird Villa is a Caribbean-style three-bedroom, three-bath accommodation that was renovated and refurbished in 1999. The villa enjoys a hillside site with views of the Caribbean Sea and Rodney Bay, as well as breezes from the Atlantic Ocean.
There is an open-plan kitchen, sitting/dining area. The kitchen has louvered shutters opening to a view. The living/dining area, with two ceiling fans, has louvered doors leading onto a series of patios, all of which are built of natural wood and designed around an unusual tree, giving the feeling of a “treehouse” and helping create a relaxing atmosphere. The “treehouse” patio has a bridge that leads to the swimming pool and a waterfall.
There are two double bedrooms on the main living level. Bedroom 1 has two single beds that can be made into a king-size bed. Louvered windows look out towards the treehouse, there is a shower room off this bedroom.
Bedroom 2 has a four-poster queen-size bed with an ensuite shower room. This bedroom has a door that leads to the swimming pool and waterfall.
The double master bedroom is at an elevated level. It has a queen-size four-poster bed and an en suite bathroom with a bath and shower. There is also a private patio off the bedroom with a view all its own. All of the bedrooms have ceiling fans and mosquito nets.

Please note the housekeepers are not trained nannies and should not be expected to look after and/or babysit infants and children. If you do make babysitting arrangements with the staff, please be advised this is at your own risk.

Beautiful...
Hummingbird Villa, St. Lucia villa review
We stayed at Hummingbird Villa for 12 nights with our family of six. Our kids are 13 years old, 11 years old, 6 years old, and 18 months old. The villa was even better than the pictures, and there was so much space for the whole family. Our housemaid, Velda, gave me a much needed break from all the household chores - including the cooking! She is amazing, and you won’t be disappointed. The Cap Estate area is wonderful, and Pigeon Island Beach has clear waters, great sand, and several places to eat.
Our whole experience was just amazing, and we have vlogged the whole trip on our YouTube channel. Please, have a look! We have included a villa tour, the beaches, the places we went to eat, the area, and of course wonderful Velda. We even went on a boat tour of the volcano and Botanical Gardens.

The only downfall about the villa is that there is no air-conditioning. This was mostly fine, but because of the heat we got a lot of insects, mosquitoes, etc. I think the villa manager, Margaret, said the owner was looking into installing a/c very soon. We will definitely be returning!
We had a very good experience booking through WhereToStay. Andrew thought of everything and organised our groceries and a rental car before we arrived, and advised us on everything we needed to know. Chief Beach Officer indeed!

Almost Perfect
Hummingbird Villa, St. Lucia villa review
Our stay in Hummingbird was (almost) perfect. Almost because of one and only one thing, the heat and mosquitos at night. Indeed, the house was really a pleasure. Since the pool access was closed off we felt really safe with our 1 year old daughter. The poolside was so relaxing and calm as well as the entire place which you can really enjoy the amazing and sweet songs of birds. Not only is the area calm and safe but the location has incredible views. We were treated so well with Velda who took care of us, preparing breakfast and local food for lunch, for the deep pleasure of all three of us. Unfortunately, at night it is really hot and we missed the AC. With me being pregnant the mosquitos were not welcome at all…yet, they felt home. Each bedroom has a mosquito net, but it was a nonstop battle that we lost. Just one advice, to enjoy the house fully, come with all your anti-mosquito set (electric raquette is a must-have). I have come to the conclusion that the heat and mosquito issue is acceptable and is part of the island life. To conclude. I already advised HV to my family and friends; because we really loved it.
This was a great experience. Everything was done quickly and Andrew was really friendly and helpful. We will surely use Wheretostay.com again. With this being said, I already communicated the tip to my friends.

Hummingbird Villa, St. Lucia villa review
We were a family of eight with mostly teens. Every part of our week experience was fabulous and perfect. Andrew with WhereToStay.com was very helpful. Also, our hostess, Marium, made my job as a mom unnecessary! The unit was always beautiful when we returned for the day.
Margueritte, with Tropical Villas, did an outstanding job arranging all our tours. A rental car was delivered and used to make short dinner runs, to Rodney Bay, or other excursions. We were always picked up on time at the villa for our day outings and brought back to villa!
I would highly recommend going through WhereToStay.com and Tropical Villas!
My only comment on the villa is that since there is no AC, open windows allowed mosquitoes in and we all had a lot of bites. However, the rest of the trip and our villa experience more than made up for it.
