What a house. What a Stay. Love you St. Maarten!!

Where To Stay’ staff were amazing. It was easy to organize, including yoga, a private chef, groceries and pool toys. Cleaning crew and concierge were great to us. We had clean sheets and towels every day, kitchen, bathrooms and pool were immaculate. The villa itself was gorgeous. HUGE!!! The patio area under the roof was amazing due to the size, comfort and the fact that there was a constant cool breeze flowing. The dinner table was perfect for our nightly dinners by our private chef. The pool sitting area was humongous. Each room was a retreat. Comfortable and updated and the bathrooms were huge. Plenty of water pressure and hot water, never an issue. Two washers and two dryers. Never turned on the huge TV. And last but not least, the cool surround sound music for the entire pool and sitting area. The beach is 120 yard walk. Baie Rouge beach is the most beautiful you will ever see. It’s semiprivate and the sand is perfect. I felt like we had our own private beach. One day, there was no one there at all. Amazing! Food. I have to say I found the best private chef. Alexis Chauvreau - Private Chef SXM. Alexis and Tessa cooked 5 dinners, one breakfast and one lunch for us. Each meal was entirely made in the house, each course was served on new dishware and introduced. The food portions were huge. The food, where do I start. It was by far the best culinary experience we (all 10 of us), have ever had. Amazing is doing it an injustice. Above and beyond!!

Working with the ‘Where to Stay’ staff and particularly Betsy was amazing and easy. Anything we wanted or needed was worked on and questions were answered very timely. Thank you Betsy!!

Loved the villa and the area!

Ten of us stayed at Maison de Reve for a surprise 50th for my husband. The villa was amazing and every room perfect.  No one felt like they got jipped by their room, it was great for all because of the king size beds in all the rooms. The beach was just a short walk from the house but if I were to return I would drive the 3-5 minute drive to The Sand Beach which is much more elegant and prestine. The beach near the house is convenient and lovely but Gus’s Bar is seedy and needs to be renovated.  My only complaint for such an amazing home are the cooking utensils, pots, pans and cutlery. They were Kmart while the house was The Plaza. It seemed to be left overs the owners didn’t want in their every day home. We cooked breakfast a few mornings and it was a disaster because there weren’t enough basic, decent frying pans, pots ... etc. For such an amazing house, this was a complaint for all us who enjoy cooking and wanted to take advantage of the house as much as possible.  We absolutely loved staying here and enjoyed both sides of St. M.  The people are fantastic and island is easy to get around and worth taking in all the different areas.  The food on the French side is by far the best food I’ve ever had and we all dinned like Kings and Queens.  It was a great trip and despite the small issue with the pots and pans (an easy fix) we’d stay again. Our housekeeper Lily was fabulous and we all cried when we had to say goodbye to her. She knows the house inside and out and was an added delight every day when she came to take care of the home.  She is a gem just like the home!

Fantastic! I’ll be working with Shawna again for sure. She was detailed, on top of everything and accessible even on her time off! Thank you Shawna for going above and beyond!!

The pictures cannot even express the beauty of this home.  Great for big groups!  Every room is very private, so if you need a little “alone” time you will get it.  Looking forward to staying here again in the future!

Sadly, this villa did not meet our expectations. The view was very disappointing and not represented truthfully in the photos. The only real view we had was at one side of the patio. There is no view at all from the pool as it is blocked by neighboring vegetation. There was also a very unattractive and frankly unsafe looking tent directly behind the home, again blocking the view. Also, in the house, no room had a view. T

The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The home was impeccably clean and the kitchen was well appointed. The bedrooms and bathrooms were a good size.

The villa housekeeper was very nice and did a really good job. The villa concierge did absolutely nothing. He was extremely slow to respond and when he finally did, the answer was always no or I can’t.

Betsy and Lori were great to work with and quick to respond. Personally, I think the home should not be a part of the where to stay profile as it is not qualified to be there.
