Whether you're playing in the games room, jumping on the trampoline, or taking advantage of your complimentary membership to the Port St. Charles Yacht Club, you'll never lack for things to do at Fustic House. This residence is the stuff old movies were made of leading one recent visitor to say, "It is truly luxurious-a real film star setting where one could imagine James Bond residing."
Numerous wings to the house give visitors plenty of space for privacy and reflection, while the open-style floor plan of the living areas invites conversations and mingling. Then bring your whole party together for dinner on the patio as the sun sets over the Caribbean Sea.
This 11-acre, privately owned, estate dating from 1740 is set on a ridge above the St. Lucy coastline, just 200 paces from the beach. Re-designed in the late 1970's by Oliver Messel, Fustic House offers views of the Caribbean Sea and the West coast.
There are 7 luxury suites, each equipped with a super king or double queen bed, air conditioning, and Bose sound systems. There are two bedrooms in the Great House, two in the Plantation Wing, two in the Messel Wing and one in the Pavilion. The Master and two suites located in the Great house, have views of the Caribbean while the suites in the Plantation Wing and Pavilion enjoy private outdoor showers. The beach is in close proximity, a short walk away via a new beach access.
The cuisine at Fustic is prepared by the in-house chef, who has received international accolades from previous guests for his creations (not to mention his homemade ice cream).
The dining room can seat 12 or more and looks particularly enchanting at night when it is lit by the many candles dotted around. Open on one side to take advantage of the sea views, the floor is made of natural stone and there is a natural stone fireplace at one end.
The lagoon pool measures 6m wide and 16m long. It is carved out of coral stone and surrounded by overhanging vegetation, so it feels more like an undiscovered lagoon you have stumbled upon rather than a swimming pool. At night, the water is lit from below, making it an even more romantic and mysterious place to swim. Next to the lagoon pool is the pool deck. Here guests can relax and admire the sea views.
Dotted around the estate are different seating areas, each with their own vista.
The West Terrace has a variety of sitting areas and is gently shaded by Cordia trees, which drop ongoing confetti showers of little red flowers. The cast iron table seats 14 people and is the perfect spot for a dinner party. The trees surrounding the West Terrace are adorned with hundreds of fairy lights, which provide a backdrop at night time.
Fustic House with its outdoor terraces, multiple seating areas and attentive staff, is ideal for entertaining. Whether it is the tropical wedding of your dreams, an anniversary, special birthday celebration, or family reunion, the 14 exemplary staff members at Fustic House will do their best to make your vacation a memorable one.
