Words can hardly express the heavenly oasis that Rock Spray is. Among the most stunning homes on the entire island, it is ideally located on the calm and deep turquoise waters of Chalk Sound. The house is surrounded by water on three sides, and views of Chalk Sound are just outside nearly every window and door on the property. Even with the windows closed, all night you can hear the water gently splashing against the rock formation below the house.

Rock Spray is well-appointed with the comforts and conveniences of home. The kitchen is well-equipped, there is a washer and dryer, air conditioning in each of the major rooms, and the layout is ideal for two couples or a family who wants the kids under the same roof, but at the opposite side of the house (close enough, but not too close).

There is a deck surrounding the house with upper and lower levels. At opposite ends of the lower deck, there are steps for convenient and safe access to the calm and warm waters of Chalk Sound. You can sit under an umbrella with a good book, enjoy one of the lounge chairs for sunbathing or a nap, or jump into one of the provided kayaks and explore the surrounding waters. No matter what your preference is, Rock Spray is the perfect home away from home.

Andrew and our experience with wheretosay.com could serve as the model for how trip coordination and client communication should happen. I can’t say enough wonderful things about Andrew and his team. We received communication from him during every step of the process. These emails included how to apply for a Covid travel authorization, links to the labs accepted by the local government for Covid testing, current local protocols, access to additional services (rental car, food delivery and preparation services, etc.), travel and arrival tips, things to do, etc. Andrew and his team handled the details, so we didn’t have to. I will use this service again!

We have now rented Rock Spray twice, recently for two blissful weeks near the end of February 2020. The villa is very well-equipped and appointed in every respect, with outdoor and indoor dinner tables, an attractive sitting area facing the water, very pleasant bathrooms, and very comfortable beds. It is decorated with numerous curios—framed feathers, shells, etc., as well as intriguing paintings. The restaurant on Chalk Sound is named Las Brisas for good reason: a cooling breeze is almost constant at Rock Spray. With the villa’s doors and windows open, there is no need to use the air-conditioners that are in every room (which is a considerable saving due to the cost of electricity in T&C). The villa is on a spit, so it is extraordinarily private. The nearby cove is sheltered from the breeze and wonderful for swimming, which, to my mind, is the best there is anywhere. I think of Chalk Sound as the world’s biggest heated swimming pool.

Since we ate all our meals at the villa, we became fairly knowledgeable about places to buy food, which become more and more expensive the closer they are to the Grace Bay tourist area. On all our ten or more stays in T&C, we have done a large part of our shopping (including wine, beer, and spirits) at the IGA on the Leeward Highway. Smart in the town (also an IGA and also good for grog) is a great option for basics, as is Sunny’s, which is a little closer.

We would definitely rent Rock Spray again.

Our stay at Rock Spray in Chalk Sound was unforgettable. The location was very private and the house literally jets out onto the turquoise water. The villa is surrounded by a wraparound deck with amazing views from every room. The house was well-appointed with what we needed to cook breakfast and several dinners. We loved to sit outside enjoying cocktails or cooking on the grill, which we took advantage of literally every night. The constant trade winds kept us nice and cool. The bedrooms and bathrooms were both spacious and clean with everything we needed, so we felt right at home. We jumped in the water daily and used the provided beach chairs, kayaks, and beach toys. There were plenty of towels and we used the washer and dryer as well. We loved being away from the hustle and bustle of Grace Bay. The location was perfect for us. Judy, the on-site contact, was extremely pleasant to work with. She helped us check in and out and provided excellent customer service. She and her maintenance team were extremely responsive with whatever we needed during our stay. Andrew Macafee, Chief Beach Officer, assisted us with the initial booking, provided a ton of super helpful tips, and made sure we were all set for our trip. He was awesome to work with and always available to answer any questions we had prior to our arrival. I’m in sales/customer service, and Andrew was stellar. We spoke several times on the phone and emailed back and forth, and he always replied quickly or answered my calls. He went out of his way to make sure we had everything ready to go prior to our arrival.

The entire experience was really first class. Thank you to Andrew and the WhereToStay team for making our first vacation to Turks & Caicos unforgettable. Really, we loved it. Andrew is a true asset to your team :)
