If you're looking for total privacy, top notch accommodations, great views, and total serenity, Mooncottage Villa is the place to be. It requires a 4-wheel drive vehicle to get up the hill to reach the villa, but that gives you an indication of how secluded Mooncottage really is. Surrounded by tropical trees and flowering plants, Mooncottage combines the natural beauty of St. John with the comfortable and modern conveniences of home. The views must be mentioned as well, as guests can enjoy panoramic views of the sea, hills, other islands, and the general beauty of the tropics.
Mooncottage Villa will delight couples seeking a lovers' hideaway, as privacy and seclusion are the hallmarks of this romantic, hilltop villa. Tucked away within landscaped gardens and set high on a hill reached only by a winding island road, Mooncottage has one of the best views on St. John. Guests can see Coral Bay, Tortola, Norman Island, and Virgin Gorda from the villa.
A stone staircase provides entrance into the villa. Two pavilions made from native stone sit near a graveled garden courtyard with a koi pond. These pavilions are connected by a heated swimming pool, with an adjacent covered verandah overlooking the sea.
The main house is tastefully decorated with upholstered sofas and chairs, and accented with teak and other exotic hardwoods. It shares space with the colorful gourmet kitchen and a full bath with a moon window. This pavilion is made complete with the shaded porch just outside. Adjacent is the master bedroom pavilion with an outside shower, queen bed, and full bath.
The furnishings could be called eclectic and were placed with Feng Shui principles in mind. Mooncottage has a spiritual ambience that correlates with its simplicity. This well-equipped cottage offers many amenities, including satellite internet access for your laptop and complementary welcome gifts.
Set on a half-acre of natural Caribbean beauty, Mooncottage is exactly the right size, totally private, fully screened and further enhanced with lovely gardens, banana, papaya, mampoo and flowering Chapeau Napoleon trees. Its high elevation and constant island tradewinds assure cool comfort, and it offers tranquility and closeness to nature.
A short drive down the hill to Coral Bay puts you within minutes of local restaurants, bars, and beaches - but you may decide to stay at Mooncottage and just enjoy the peace, the view, and each other.
